AstraZeneca Operations is 20% of the AstraZeneca workforce, across 18 countries and 30 different production facilities.

We are now looking for a SHE Process Champion representing the Operations geographical region in the SHE Business Process. The position can be based in Sweden (Sodertalje) or UK (Macclesfield). As the Regional lead for SHE, you lead the business processes to drive strong SHE performance and programs. You will report to the Head of Operational Excellence EMEA Supply and play a key role in the SHE agenda on behalf of regional leadership team.

You will be responsible for developing a regional strategy for achieving SHE performance targets and ensure consistent/standardised approach to SHE initiatives. You will serve as a communication channel to/from Global SHE and local sites within the region and lead sharing of good practice & improvement ideas from across the region and globally.

The role
Your main duties and responsibilities:

* Represent the region on global process network
* Ensure adherence to the global standards & processes within the region
* Engage and lead regional process network
* Provide training, expert advice and coaching to the region
* Facilitate 2-way communications between the process users and the global BPO
* Contribute ideas for simplification & improvement of the global process
* Identify issues & risks, & escalate to the global BPO as required
* Manage relationships & communications with key regional stakeholders

Specific Responsibilities:

* The SHE Process Champions and SHE Process Experts will be accountable for one or more of the 4 sub-Business Processes of Stay Safe, Stay Well, Stay Safe, Stay Green and Stay Complaint.
* Creates, defines and implements long term SHE strategies to serve the regional business objectives involving a diverse service delivery portfolio and a complex geographical mix
* Creates and develops effective Safety, Health and Environment management processes that align Regional Leadership objectives with the demands and requirements of internal customers
* Accountable at a global functional level for both setting Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) policy and plans and the overall SHE performance of the regional network.
* Provides input into strategic direction of the SHE organization through global leadership teams
* Ensures SHE direction and policy are in alignment with wider Global AstraZeneca SHE initiatives
* Leads compliance reporting process and monitor team and functional performance and to identify and rectify deficiencies, areas of concern and other non-compliances
* Responsible for facilitating the regional risk management program. Includes developing of global risk registers with mitigation strategies, risk management training, and running business continuity simulations.
* Position will oversee direct reports with indirect reporting relationships to SHE leads at sites in region.

Essential Requirements

* Significant experience in SHE leadership
* Professional background, knowledge and experience in all aspects of SHE
* Ability to develop and implement strategies for sustainable and scalable business processes
* Ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders
* Ability to lead and drive cultural change through process and capability improvement
* Experience of managing a team across 2 or more countries
