As Manager for Configuration Management, your main tasks will be to coach, lead and manage the Configuration Management team in day to day businesses.
Your role
Configuration management is a controlled way of manage the development and modification of systems and products, during their entire life-cycle. As Manager for Configuration Management, your main tasks will be to coach, lead and manage the Configuration Management team in day to day businesses. The unit is formed of around 10 employees in two locations, Järfälla and Huskvarna. You will lead the department to the goals and future challenges set for Avionics Systems, manage competence development and resources. You will have responsibility for the department budget and your own cost center. You will report to the head of Engineering and be a part of the Engineering management team.
You will be responsible for the Configuration Management and Manage Information processes, including methods, tools and efficient ways of working. The Configuration Management process includes the following areas; planning, identification, change control, status accounting, and audit. The Manage Information process ensures relevant, accessible, valid, correct and retrievable information. Among others you will drive improvements and adapt processes for Avionics development and maintenance projects. You will have a close cooperation with Avionics Systems project managers, product management and other departments within Avionics Systems.

What you will be a part of
Saab Avionics Systems develops and manufactures safety critical systems and equipment for demanding applications in fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Avionics Systems portfolio includes the new generation Head-Up Display System, Mission Computers, Control and Actuation Systems and Communication Management System. For the JAS 39 Gripen systems, we deliver a various number of equipment such as Computers and Flight Management Systems and high-lift systems for the Boeing 787 and Airbus A400M, and gyros for multiple military applications. Avionics Systems have more than 350 employees located in Huskvarna and Järfälla and most of our projects are carried out in an international environment. Configuration Management is a one of nine departments within the Engineering unit. Engineering is responsible for engineering competences and have nearly 150 resources, in a variety of areas; Software, Electronics, Power and PLD, Test Equipment and Verification, Systems Engineering, Mechanics, Optics, ILS and Configuration Management. We envision a management team where each member contributes with their individual experiences and skills to create an effective and dynamic environment. Other areas of Engineering's responsibility are the Avionics Systems Development Processes including Methods and Tools where we have demanding requirements of cost-efficient and competitive development of high quality, safety critical applications. Moreover Engineering is responsible for the Avionics Systems Technology Planning.
