Your work as Ruby Developer at Universum will help improve the career of millions of talent worldwide! Through high quality insights Universum catalyze and equip talent, employers and partners to make informed decisions in a complex world.
In your new role as a Ruby developer, you will be building optimized solutions and improvements to our legacy systems, as well as migrating functions to a new Microservices Architecture. Your role will be a broad one with a range of responsibilities; including being engaged in designing and building the structures that make great visualization possible towards our clients, partners and users. Furthermore, you will be working with cloud architecture as well as transforming data into advanced analytics and reports.
You will have proximity to our engineers as well as Product Owners and other stakeholders. You will also have a continuous dialogue with different areas of the business, such as data processing, report generation and data analytics. As a Ruby on Rails developer, you will spend most of your time in our global HQ Office in the middle of Stockholm City.
Your work week will be flexible, and there is an opportunity to work from home. Additional perks of the role include traveling to conferences and meet-ups held both in Sweden as well as internationally.
Who are you?
Firstly, you like Ruby! You have a passion for development and code, as well as learning new things, driven by curiosity and a will to be up to date. Being humble and motivated by problem solving will help you greatly at Universum A decent respect for creating clean code and the following craftmanship is something you value.
You have experience of programming in Ruby, preferably Ruby On Rails. A good knowledge of AWS as well as SQL and one or two of the usual frontend tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) are important competences. A bonus would be if you are interested in or knows any machine learning or data science tools. Another bonus is version control tools and testing experience as well as Linux/Unix experience.
