Reporting to the Manager of Service Configuration team; the Route Planner will work as part of Telia Carrier's Service Delivery & Network Procurement department, and implements and decommissions Telia Carrier sold services in timely manner. Your main responsibility includes physical route path planning and registration for IP and Capacity services. You will also be responsible to configure DWDM platforms based on existing guideline and standards, which are already in place, to support you during your daily tasks. There is also a need to use internal support and inventory systems, which you must keep up-to-date. You will also be involved when it comes to setting process and system improvements; and you will always be encouraged to make recommendations as you see fit.

Day-to-Day tasks:

Route plan and register route path in inventory tool
Software patching and service configuration for Coriant, Infinera, ADVA, and Ciena DWDM platforms
Support customers, field engineers, and sub-contractors with patching and bring-into-service testing
Perform migrations, testing, and activations of services in cooperation with customers if required also outside normal working hours
Actively involve in making process, and system improvements; and make recommendations
Decommission capacity services based on existing guideline

SPECIFIC AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Previous experience of working as Transmission or Network Engineer or related
Passion for technology, client satisfaction and customer service
Ability to work as multitasked and effectively prioritize tasks
Ability to work independently in an analytical way and to take own initiative
Ability to work on administrative and repetitive work environment
Excellent analytical & organizational skills
High level of documentation & communication skills

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of two (2) years plus relevant work experience within the telecommunications' industry
Essential to have very good understanding and practical working experience with fiber optics and optical networking, OTNs, data centers, trunks, ODF, DWDM platforms, transceivers, transponders, multiplexers, OTDR, SDH
Service configuration and troubleshooting experience with DWDM platforms (e.g. Infinera, ADVA, Coriant, Ciena)
Essential to have sold understanding of IP, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS and L3 VPN
Experience in Network inventory and workflow systems (INCA, SalesForce.com)
Good knowledge of English and Swedish (written and spoken)

EDUCATION

Post-secondary education/university degree is desirable
CCNA/CCNP/MEF 2.0 Metro Ethernet Forum Certification would be advantageous but not essential
