In this role you will be part of the Robotics team at ABB Research in Västerås Sweden. In our role as ABB Research, we ensure ABB's technology competitiveness now and in the future.
In the Robotics team we focus on mechatronics concepts, design and robot intelligence in both industrial and service robot segments. The research activities usually formulated as technology pre-study and technology development projects. We work closely with ABB's robotics business to ensure our research will bring unique value for ABB business. At the same time, we have close collaboration with academic world to bridge the academic and industrial research. In this team, one of our historical highlights is the creation and development of the dual-arm YuMi robot concept and the mobile YuMi concept.

Robotics and Mechatronics Team Manager
Your responsibilities
You will be part of creating, improving, and maintaining software technologies for robotics in areas such as control, navigation, manipulation, vision, and AI.
Your primary contribution will be to the WARA Robotics project, supporting AI and ML researchers from Sweden and building the robotics research lab for Industry 4.0.
Your work will include working with ABB industrial and collaborative robots, sensors for robotics, and other mechatronic devices.
You will be working with robots in both real and simulated environments to support or develop technologies and intelligence for robots, as one of the key aspects of research in WARA Robotics.
You will be writing technical documentation for researchers and engineers as end users in WARA Robotics.
You will be working in an agile and international team. You are expected to be able to work both independently and within teams in a fast-paced environment.
Your background
Have a MSc or PhD degree of education in the subjects of robotics, software engineering, or more generally computer science.
Good theoretical knowledge and experience in various robotics fields.
Good knowledge in C++ and Python, and experience with software engineering practices.
Knowledge of ABB RAPID/RobotStudio and experience with robot commissioning is a plus.
Experience with Linux, software version control, and ROS 2 is a plus.
English is the working language.
