hela Sverige Are you are looking for an opportunity to work with the latest robot control technologies for a growing global market - a position where you have genuine influence on the development of advanced software for robotic solutions used in automation installations all over the world? If so, ABB's Robotics unit in Mölndal, just south of Sweden's second city Gothenburg, and part of the Group's Discrete Automation and Motion division, currently has an opening for a talented Robot Application Software Engineer.
In close co-ordination with customers and local ABB units worldwide, your primary tasks will involve the development, construction, testing, and verification of customized application software for robot solutions in a variety of processes in the automation sector. Key activity areas will include: rapid programming, RobotStudio, motor configuration, (external axle to robots), a variety of programming types, (robot, welding guard), and graphic interfaces, (for example Microsoft Visual Studio). You will also be expected to have adequate understanding and knowledge of PLC, I/O interfaces, as well as documentation and flow diagrams.
A skilled oral communicator, you also have a highly developed customer focus, and thrive in environments where you are required to collaborate with others. You are a skilled conceptual thinker, driven by your innate sense of innovation and creativity.
Naturally, you are interested in automation, (including a knowledge of processes), and you have a genuine interest and understanding of robotics. Previous documentation management experience is required. You are currently already employed by ABB or, alternatively, you work in the automotive industry, and/or with a sub-supplier or consultancy, in Sweden or abroad.
You have a solid academic background, which can either be vocational-related or a university-based. What is of crucial importance is professional experience of different types of processes and programming. Experience of robotics, preferably ABB robots, is advantageous. You may have, for example, worked with robot programming and maintenance. Past experience of areas related to robots in automation and other applications, as well as PLC would be especially beneficial. Experience of the automotive industry, or other automation sector, would also support your application. Fluency in English is required, knowledge of other languages welcome.
You will be part of ABB Robotics. We develop, manufacture and market robots and associated control systems, software, arc welding products, tracks and motor packages. Over 90% of our production is exported and our customers include all major auto manufacturers. The auto industry and its sub suppliers and to an increasing extent general industry, such as the food industry, are automating their production with robots. Welding, machine tending, materials management, grinding, packaging and assembly are the most common applications. Our robots and robotics are sold via local ABB companies and via independent systems integrators and OEM companies - companies we call our Partners. The unit has 700 employees.
