Introduction:
Do you have experience from internal control and risk management? Tube, the largest division at Sandvik Materials Technology, is now looking for a Risk Manager at consolidated division level, a new role with great possibilities to make an impact. This is an exciting role with both a local and global focus where we look for a Risk Manager who can create an effective Risk Management process that not only is compliant, but also adds value to the organization.
Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT), today a business area within Sandvik, will after the planned listing on Nasdaq Stockholm 2022, be an industrial group with a turnover of approx. 15 million SEK and approx. 50 entities within 30 countries. Sandvik Materials Technology is a world-leading manufacturer of advanced stainless steels and special alloys for the most demanding industries. Division Tube is SMT's largest division, with an organization of about 3800 employees worldwide and a turnover of approx. 11 million SEK.
Job Summary
We are now looking for a Risk Manager to a newly instituted Risk function. Working as Risk manager, you will have the overall responsibility for the risk processes regarding internal control, compliance and loss prevention. Initially, your main task will be to further develop the SMT framework and a way of working for the Tube organization to manage risks, including analysis of the financial impact of potential risks, as well as awareness creation in the full organization.
You will take an active role in developing and maintaining the internal control framework and its effectiveness and you will also take a coordinating approach regarding compliance risks and loss prevention (commercial & technological risks).
Main tasks as Risk Manager:
• Evaluation of current risk profile as well as assessment of future risks and preparing relevant information at each level in the organization
• Maintaining procedures and risk management control to ensure a solid process in eliminating and mitigating business risks in the Tube organization
• Continuous process development within Risk management
• Performing risk assessment within internal control and ensure compliance within the Tube organization
• Maintaining and development of audit processes
• Monitor rules and regulations and building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a master's degree in legal, finance or engineering and past experience in Risk management, preferably from internal control, within a larger international manufacturing company. If you have experience from project management or other leading roles, we see that as beneficiary. As this position has international exposure, you need to possess strong communication skills in the English language to build relations and collaborate with people from all over the world.
Personal characteristics
To thrive in this position as Risk Manager you need to be supportive, responsive, driven and show strong attention to details. In addition, you are used to planning and organizing your work in a structured way and you adopt a service minded hands-on approach to both support and ensure compliance. You must have good sense of business acumen to be able to establish controls that also are effective in practice. You also have strong pedagogical and communication skills.
There will be some travelling in this position.
