What we offer

The ART Electrical Infrastructure offers the possibility to work with a mixture of EDS, Electrical Design, ELP and EMC related issues for all vehicle lines within Volvo Cars. The ART also offers the opportunity to learn the agile way of working adapting the full SAFe configuration in a HW product, which will require more interactions among the designers and developers within and outside the ART, thereby increasing your network.

The Build/Pre-series team is responsible for supporting the builds of different test objects in all development phases from concept until production ensuring that all harnesses and all EDS components are updated correctly to support the new features of the vehicle being developed.

What you'll do

As a Rework Engineer in EDS, you are responsible for keeping the harnesses or EDS components upgraded or updated according to specification by doing needed reworks. Also, to secure that all harnesses needed in the build are available on time and with the correct content. The contents of the available harnesses often do not match with what is needed in a concept, or pre-series build due to new car features, incorrect materials ordered or minor design flaws.

This position requires a close cooperation with EDS suppliers and test object leaders to support them with information on how much effort is needed to do the rework of harnesses. It also requires a close collaboration with mechanics, and together you will determine how to best rework the harnesses which are already assembled in the vehicle.

Areas of responsibilities:
* Participate on daily stand up meetings to assess the tasks of the day
* Rework wiring harnesses and other EDS components
* Secure reworks done are according to specification

You and your skills

You have experience in or interest to learn in automotive harness manufacturing and the reworking process. You have at least a BSc degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience and your English is fluent (written and spoken).

CAD tool experience, preferably working with CATIA V5 (Electrical), CHS, KDP and Teamcenter experience is meritorious together with knowledge about Volvo Cars product development process or agile development process full SAFe configuration.

The role requires implementing an agile mind set of design and development in daily work in which teamwork is highly valued.
