Reuters Fundamentals has two vacancies for the role as Data Analyst. The position is based in Gothenburg within the Reuters Fundamentals team.
Main task in role is data administration, i.e. collecting, inputting and maintenance of company fundamental data i to various programs.
POSITION: Market Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Company Fundamentals and Corporate Actions
DEPARTMENT ROLE
• To provide clients with Fundamental/Corporate Actions Data relating to publicly trading companies on all European, Middle East and African Stock Exchanges
• To keep abreast of daily market activity and ensure information is updated in a timely manner for Reuters Data customers
• To liaise directly with other teams within the Company Information on a regular basis
• Maintain timeliness, accuracy and completeness of information
• To assist Fundamental and Corporate Action Data counterparts in Poland, Sweden, Cyprus, India, Singapore, China and US
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process and administrate data and apply in an accurate manner to the database using technical and financial knowledge to add value
• Seek efficiencies in work practices to achieve automation
• Take responsibility for data quality, accuracy, timeliness and completeness
• Liaise with Reuters Data customers and third party data suppliers
• Be proactive to identify and resolve problems
• Support future training of new members of staff
• Ensure timely and complete resolution of queries from internal and external clients
• Research and analysis of production process to promote continuous improvement
• Use appropriate language skills to understand and source financial information
• Use language skills to build relationships with overseas market contacts
Extensive in-house training will be given
EDUCATION
• Preferably Four-year college/university degree
• Fluent English and Finnish - Preferred knowledge of financial markets/economic data
COMPETENCIES
• Detail conscious and can spot anomalies
• Self motivated even when attending to routine tasks
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Ability to follow company best practices
• Knowledge or experience of working in the financial markets, and an in-depth knowledge of own markets
• Good PC skills with knowledge of Excel, Word, Internet
EXPECTATIONS
• Work will have busier periods and at these times the analyst will be expected to work extended hours to meet the strict timescales for updating information
• Take ownership of own workloads, tasks and market
• Be accountable for department deliverables
