Vår skola har nyligen erhållit ett bidrag på en miljon svenska kronor som skall användas till att utveckla arbetet med den specialundervisning vi erbjuder. En del av vår satsning är att investera i ytterligare en specialpedagog och en extra resuslärare till årskurserna 1-6 som skall tillhöra vårt speciapedagogiska team. Vi investerar också i datorsierade utbildningsprogram så som Cogmed och Luminosity för att hjälpa våra elever att utveckla sin möjlighet att fokusera, utveckla sitt arbetsminne och hela sitt kognitiva förmåga. About the school and IES:
We opened our Jönköping school with 300 students in August 2009 and have been very fortunate to enjoy a lot of success. We have grown in size each year and in August 2013 we will have approximately 850 students in years 1-9, making this the largest compulsory school in Jönköping County. We have received a lot of positive attention in the newspapers, achieved a number of awards and built a very positive reputation for our professionalism. In 2012 we were one of the first 8 schools in Sweden who started running a special advanced education (Spetsutbildning) approved by Skolverket.
Internationella Engelska Skolan is a leading independent school group (friskola), reaching academic results far above average. It was founded in 1993 by Ms Barbara Bergström, a science teacher, originally from the US. In 2009, she received the award "Entrepreneur of the year in Sweden".
