IWAY, the IKEA way of responsibly procuring products, services, materials and components, is an approach that contributes to responsible sourcing in the total value chain and is one of the enablers for IKEA to become people and planet positive. IWAY sets expectations on environmental, social and working conditions, as well as animal welfare, for the IKEA value chain, including all suppliers and service providers that work with IKEA.
We are now looking for one Responsible Sourcing Development Leader to join the Responsible Sourcing Development function on a temporary basis during one year, to fill in for a parental leave.
Job Description
As a Responsible Sourcing Development Leader, you will lead or take active part in exploration and development projects connected to the IKEA Responsible Sourcing Approach for the franchise system, including the IWAY System and other sustainability systems and standards (such as raw materials), to further contribute to positively transforming the IKEA value chain. You work closely together with internal stakeholders from Inter IKEA Group core businesses, as well as IKEA franchisees and also external stakeholders and experts.
Main responsibilities:
Lead and support development projects and activities related to the IKEA Responsible Sourcing Approach, including the IWAY System and other sustainability systems and standards (such as for raw materials),
Inspire, enable and challenge IKEA organisations implementing Responsible Sourcing, including IWAY and other sustainability systems and standards (such as for raw materials)
Contribute to the development of the description of the IKEA sustainability due diligence process and support IKEA organisations in the implementation of sustainability due diligence initiatives that align with the sustainability goals and contribute to the overall IKEA sustainability performance,
Cooperate and work together with IKEA organisations, assessing and acting on needs for further development of the IKEA Responsible Sourcing approach including the IWAY System and other sustainability systems and standards and other sustainability systems and standards (such as for raw materials), such as requirements, ways of working, competence development, guidelines, communication, reporting, etc., to support the IKEA goals,
Analyse external and internal trends, opportunities and challenges in sustainability approaches and standards in global value chains, to ensure the continuous relevance of the IKEA Responsible Sourcing approach including the IWAY System and other sustainability systems and standards (such as for raw materials),
Contribute to and support communication around Responsible Sourcing including IWAY
Take active part in the development and facilitation of the global learning offer connected to the IKEA Responsible Sourcing approach and the IWAY System,
Analyse potential gaps for improvement opportunities of the IKEA Responsible Sourcing approach, including IWAY.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you live and share the IKEA culture & values on a daily basis, are a true team player and are open minded. You lead and drive areas of responsibility on your own, or through others. You have a proactive and structured approach, paired with excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills. The ability to easily create trustful relationships and to be the spider in the web, making all involved stakeholders work towards overall goals, is essential. You have the capacity to lead and challenge stakeholders without formal authority, and to lead change in a diverse global environment.
As a Responsible Sourcing Development Leader, we expect you to:
Have proven knowledge and experience connected to sustainability in value chains. Knowledge of the IWAY System is a plus;
Have solid change management skills and experience from driving strategic change;
Have knowledge in responsible sourcing approaches, sustainability due diligence frameworks and processes and sustainability regulations;
Master project management skills;
Have excellent English communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
