The vehicle and surface protection unit situated in Kista, Stockholm, consists of 16 colleagues and has two different main directions, vehicle corrosion and surface protection. Within vehicle corrosion we have our largest membership program MRC Automotive corrosion with 45 companies from all over the world. We also have extensive testing activities including accelerated corrosion testing, mobile, and stationary corrosion field testing. Finally, we perform numerous R&D projects, both industry and public funded.
We are now searching for a colleague to be responsible for vehicle corrosion and atmospheric corrosion testing with special attention to our membership program. You will work closely with the unit manager and senior colleagues within the area.
About the role
Your main responsibilities will consist of:
- To manage our member program MRC Automotive corrosion.
- To maintain the international market leading position for RISE in the field of vehicle corrosion.
- To work with customer relations and develop customer base within the field of vehicle corrosion.
- To manage and organize atmospheric corrosion testing.
Who are you?
You are a university engineer, a civil engineer or have a research degree with a minimum of 5 years working experience from the automotive industry. Experience from working with automotive corrosion is strongly merited. Great emphasis will be placed on customer relation skills. You need to be thorough, structured, flexible, responsive, curious, collaborative and have the ability to plan your own time. A network in Sweden and internationally within the area of automotive corrosion is highly meritorious. It is essential that you are able to express yourself freely in English, both in speech and in writing.
To succeed in the role, you need to be communicative, listening and initiative-creating. Working at a research institute stimulates you and you understand that we are between academia and industry where the research projects are conducted to develop the unit and RISE's offer to the industry.
