hela Sverige Resident Manufacturing Engineering is a department within Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering (VCME), located in Volvo Cars Torslanda (VCT), Sweden, with main responsibilities to:
Implement running changes, at VCT plant according to set targets
Implement introduce and maintain quality-assured, effective and standardized production systems in the plant
Implement in cooperation with Commodity a process driven product development with focus on effective and quality assured production and robust design/process solutions
Increase commonality and share best practices by working together with VCT/VCG
Be a member in the VRT team within the Paint area
Resident Manufacturing Engineer
Purpose of the role:
Assure flawless introduction of running changes into our plant
Upon request, support core or commodity, when expertise competence is needed
Continuously strive for Commonality within VCC plantsSupport the plant in the problem solving process
Decrease manufacturing variability within the Paint area
Main Tasks:
Support production in technical issues
Plan and adapt the plants in scope of product-, process- and capacity changes
Responsible for investigations- and actions when manufacturing variability deviations are noticed by: Quality Action (QAT) / Variability Reduction (VRT) teams
Update and prepare Heavy Item list and Balanced Single Agenda for Quality (BSAQ)
Actively participate in the VRT as part of the BSAQ-concept
Prepare material (facts and figures) regarding proposed product or process changes and for eventual investments
Optimize processes and flows
Identify and support continuous improvements in order to reach world class
Negotiate new process set ups with the union and safety community
Optimize existing equipment. And when capacity or availability demands can not be reached, drive Tooling and Equipment for further investigation and solution
Initiate product changes to Commodity when required by QCDISME (key performance indicators) targets
Support production with problem analysis (QCDISME) when expertise competence is needed (first line analysis made by production with support of Quality Support Engineers)
Initiate and implement corrective activities
Be the competence centre for technical tools used in production and in certain extent educate (i.e. Quality Process System, Operating Instruction Sheet, and Kinematics)
Have the knowledge and documentation of all Process and Inspection Instructions used in the plant
Responsible for layout, flow simulation and capacity models
Feed Lessons Learned to Core and Commodity
When process changes are planned, identify and take in consideration ergonomics- and energy consumption and environment
Competence Requirements:
Technical competence at senior high school / university level
Practical experience of the paint production process
Leader experience is a benefit
Knowledge about the processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and R&D
English in spoken and written
