JOB TITLE: Resident Engineer
SCOPE AND IMPACT OF POSITION ON THE ORGANIZATION:
Ensure outstanding technical support to the customer and coordinate with the engineering community the necessary actions to be perceived as technology leader with excellent execution.
Assure that WABCO devices and systems are selected and configured according to customer requirements and applied appropriately in customer vehicles.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Direct connectivity networking with customers technical department on all levels on daily basis
• Handle WABCO components on the truck (valves, electronics/ECU, parameter, software)
• Requirements elicitation and specification mapping
o Collect technical customer requirements, specifications and associated documents
o Compare customer requirements and specifications with WABCO specifications, identify mapping specifications and deviations
o Resolve deviations with product group engineer and customer, accomplish acceptance of deviations
o Create change request for non-acceptable deviations including breakdown of customer requirements
• Product application and configuration
• Application validation and release, such as:
• Perform and check component installation and system environment in the vehicle together with the customer
• Start-up system in the vehicle, run through initialization procedure
• Management of function, requirement and system tracking and documentation
• Diagnostics of system (pneumatic, software, failure finding) at factory and vehicles in the field, such as:
• Support customer according to national and international regulations as appropriate
• Carry out tests on special demand (e.g. system performance, parameter change)
• Get technical approval of application from the customer
• Provide technical release of application
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Product Engineering or in a position well connected to Product Engineering in the Automotive industry, preferably in vehicle function development, vehicle testing or product development.
• Experience with WABCO products
PROFILE:
• Degree in Engineering
• Good overview on WABCO products
• Fluent in English
• Well connected to the engineering community in past experience, preferably with WABCO engineering community.
• Project management, experience in technical coordination
• Strong communication skills including presentations to senior management
• Ability to understand and act with Swedish culture
• Ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks and projects to successful completion, including demanding support from WABCO's engineering / expert community
• Able to create good connectivity and efficient working relationship on project level at customer and WABCO
• Driving personality
INTERNAL INTERACTIONS:
• Global community of Product Engineering (System & Function Development, Design & Test, Vehicle Test)
• Project Management, Marketing, Key Account Teams, Aftermarket
EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS:
• Customers' product development, project management, production line
• Participation to customer/WABCO meetings (e. g. business reviews, purchasing, quality)

Located at customer site, near Stockholm / Sweden
