RISE SICOMP AB is a unit within RISE dedicated to research and development of lightweight, high strength fibre reinforced composite materials, production processes and products. We conduct research and industrial assignments for customers within the aerospace, marine, automotive and power sectors and we have offices in Piteå, Linköping and Mölndal. Of our projects almost half is with international customers, mainly within Europe. To meet an increased demand for our services we now have to recruit qualified personnel.
Researcher within production systems and/or production efficiency in Linköping
We are looking for a researcher with a great interest in production systems and / or production technology, and who wants to be involved in developing manufacturing systems for polymer composite materials.
Work description:
The position is focused on research development and project management in the field of production systems and production technology. The work is carried out within the framework of public funded research projects and/or customer assignments focused on manufacturing-efficient production systems for composite materials. This involves work on topics such as planning and layout of production systems, automation and robotics, as well as other types of solutions and technologies for streamlining manufacturing systems and processes. You will analyze industrial requirements, apply for appropriate funding, plan and lead proposals and if successfully granted, lead the project work together with project team. Documentation and communication of results is usually done directly with the customers and/or publicly through conferences and seminars. We value your ability to build and maintain relevant networks in with both research partners, industrial customers and equipment suppliers.

Personal qualities:
You are driven and independent with interest in developing in the area of production and automation, and you look forward to being involved in new challenges. You enjoy working in teams and want to collaborate with personnel in our other offices in Piteå and Mölndal. You are responsive to the customers and their desires and can turn complex issues into feasible project plans and you have the interest and ability to build long-term, professional contacts with external partners and financiers. You like to drive the development and you have high integrity in relation to your research and to the customer. You are used to and enjoy communicating results orally and in writing.
Education and experience:
You are a graduate student in any of the areas of mechanical engineering, automation, production technology, production systems or neighboring areas. Experience in composite manufacturing, production technology, production/manufacturing systems, robotics and automation is meritorious but no requirement. You should have experience in leading research projects, and it is an advantage if you led industrial development projects in some form. You need to be fluent in English (written and oral) and good knowledge in Swedish is qualifying. This job may include travel, and it is good but not required if you have a driving license valid in Sweden.
