Duties and responsibilities
The main duty is to perform research on safety of engineered nanoparticles (ENM) from additive manufacturing in collaboration with industry partners. The project is a teamwork between the research environments MTM and the Inflammatory Response and Infection Susceptibility Center (iRISC) at Örebro University, and the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AMM) at the Örebro University Hospital. The research involves assessment of ENM exposure, ENM characterization, ENM toxicological mode of action, and ENM health impact. The main duties are to develop and set up in vitro toxicity tests, and to plan and conduct toxicity testing to assess cellular effects and modes of action of ENM. The tasks also include coordination of the project. Other duties include sampling at the industrial facilities and general maintenance of the cell culture facilities and dissemination of research results.
