Our primary research focus at department of molecular and clinical medicine is on metabolism, diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease. We support and promote research and teaching in translational medicine to improve health and to benefit society.
Our group investigates how the gut microbiota affects our metabolism by combining clinical and preclinical research.
Job assignments:
The position aims at clarifying how the gut microbiota affects "browning" of white adipose tissue and if the underlying signaling pathways are mediated through the gut-brain-white adipose
tissue axis as well as examining if this signaling is affected by bariatric surgery. Will also lead the work at the gnotobiotic unit.
Qualifications:
PhD in for the position relevant topic, or foreign equivalent degree.
The successful applicant is expected to work both independently and in a group. Documented experience working with germ-free mice and performing sleeve gastrectomy is required.
Experience in phenotyping mice using a TSE system is a merit. The applicant should speak and write fluent English.
