RISE CBI is the leading place for performing applied research on cement-based building materials and components. We work closely together with the construction industry and authorities. Our R&D activities are carried out in form of national or international multidisciplinary projects and our goals are to support the construction industry and our built society towards a sustainable and safe future. We implement this by performing research on innovative materials and processes in the area of construction with cement-based materials, recycling and reuse of materials. Our material developments contribute to the sustainability of the built environment. RISE CBI is active in the fields of applied research, consulting, testing and training.

About the position
We are looking for a researcher to support our group in the area of cementitious grouting materials. Amongst others, the position is part of a multidisciplinary project team for developing grouts for geothermal applications in the framework of a large European project. The researcher is responsible for planning, organization and execution of laboratory experiments and evaluation of the test results. Besides R&D and management activities within the projects the position includes communication with project partners, coordinating activities within the RISE team, reporting to the financing bodies, etc. Further responsibilities include research work in support for other projects and leading or actively participating in proposals for research projects.

The location of the position is in Stockholm, Sweden. We have a well-maintained lab for R&D in the area of concrete and other cement-based materials. As part of RISE we have access to a large number of unique analytical and testing instrumentation as well as to the competence of experts from a wide range of different research areas.

Your professional profile
You are a civil engineer, geologist or material scientist with a profound background in cement-based grouting materials, rheological and penetrability properties and the relevant measurement methods. You are particularly familiar with the injection techniques in soil and rock grouting. You are experienced in R&D and project management. Of merit are skills in concrete technology and related testing methods. Knowledge and experience with other construction materials is a plus. The ability to work in the laboratory individually and as a part of a team are expected. You are used to publish results in research reports, in peer-reviewed journals, and on conferences.

You as a person
You are used to work independently but you are also a good team player. Your communication skills with clients and external partners are excellent, and you are fluent in Swedish and English in speech and writing. You are curious in your research topics and enjoy tackling new challenges. You prefer to work in a structured and organized way, meeting deadlines early on and like to contribute to the development of our research environment. You are ambitious to apply and lead your own projects and project teams.
