Research at the Department of Molecular Biosciences, The Wenner-Gren Institute (MBW) experimentally addresses fundamental problems in molecular cell biology, integrative biology, and infection and immunobiology. State-of-the art and advanced methodologies are applied in a professional research environment characterized by its well-established international profile. Project description
The project will be associated with research in Professor Marie Öhman's research group. The group focuses on studying RNA processing and RNA editing in neurons using cell- and molecular biology techniques, together with NGS transcriptome sequencing in combination with bioinformatics.

Main responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated and focused researcher to join Professor Marie Öhman's research group. Your main responsibilities will be research within the field of RNA biology in neurons and RNA editing in particular. The ideal candidate should have a background in experimental biology but knowledge in bioinformatic analyses is also favorable. Experience beyond the doctoral degree is not required, however applicants must have demonstrated productivity in pursuing research in relevant or related disciplines. Relevant expertise includes RNA biology and/or neurobiology.

Qualification requirements
Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country. 

Assessment criteria
The ideal candidate should have a background in experimental biology but knowledge in bioinformatic analyses is also favorable. Experience beyond the doctoral degree is not required, however applicants must have demonstrated productivity in pursuing research in relevant or related disciplines. Relevant expertise includes RNA biology and/or neurobiology. Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken, are a requisite.

In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills in RNA biology and RNA processing in particular.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time employment for one year, with the possibility of extension. Start date 2016-12-01 or as per agreement.
