We are looking for a researcher in Information Technology for a permanent position at the School of Science and Technology.

Subject area
The subject area for this position is Information Technology.

Background
We are looking for a researcher that can develop and implement a range of AI methods from classical algorithms in computer vision, as well as the latest methods within artificial intelligence namely federated learning and AI-based generation of synthetic data. Applications that are of interest are within the area of information driven healthcare. The work is done in the context of national projects with national partners in Sweden representing the public sector as well as industry.

Duties and responsibilities
This is primarily a research position where the candidate is expected to work on implementation of state-of-the-art algorithms to new problem sets. Focus lies on highly project-driven work and the candidate should be able to work well in a consortium with other actors and should also be able to deliver open software and results within the scope of the project in a timely and professional manner. Several different projects of varying scope and timelines will need to be handled simultaneously. The candidate will need to attend project meetings but also work independently on implementation. Some teaching may become relevant within the scope of the position depending on the needs of the School.

Qualifications
Those qualified for the appointment as a researcher are applicants who have obtained a Swedish doctoral degree or have a degree from abroad deemed to correspond to a doctoral degree.

Assessment criteria
The candidate should have experience in working in applied projects where federated learning and work with synthetic data has been used. The candidate should be well organised and be able to manage independently their time and prioritize their work accordingly.

A general basis for assessment is that the applicant is able to demonstrate the personal qualities required to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities at hand; that they are able to cooperate with other members of staff; and contribute to the development of university operations.

The ability to fluently speak and write in Swedish is a merit.

This is a permanent full-time position. At Örebro University, salary depends on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, and positions announced are, where appropriate, subject to a trial period.
