The Department of Economics hosts research and teaching within business administration and economics. A unique feature of the Department is that great emphasis is placed on applied science, often in collaboration with natural science subjects at the university. High priority areas within the business administration subject are individual decision making and management as well as rural entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Department provides undergraduate degree courses mainly in agricultural economics and economics specialising in natural resource management, and runs a postgraduate programme. It also offers occasional courses for students in biology, engineering and animal husbandry.
Subject area:
The subject area comprises business administration, specialising in financial accounting and control.
Duties:
The holder of this post of university lecturer is expected to:
• develop and actively be involved in teaching on financial accounting and control at basic and advanced level
• contribute to the development of the postgraduate research area of business administration
• develop and lead successful research within the subject area of the post
• develop and maintain national and international networks of researchers, industry, commercial sectors and society at large
• disseminate research results
• act as contact point in relation to SLU's centre for business management
• actively seek research funding
• conduct teaching in Swedish and English.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant will:
• hold a doctorate in business administration with a specialization in financial or managerial accounting and control, or be able to provide support for that such a degree will be obtained in the near future, or have equivalent scientific qualification
• have scientific expertise within the subject area of the post
• have good language skills in English and Swedish
• have good teaching skills, and will have completed university lecturer training corresponding to 10 weeks of full-time study (or acquired equivalent skills by other means). This requirement must be fulfilled within two years from the start of the appointment if it is not fulfilled at the time of application.
