Do you want to contribute to a digital sustainable transformation of business and society? Do you have a passion for sensor technologies? Do you have academic or industry experience and a solid competence in sensor technology development? Are you a team player and social person skilled at establishing and nurturing customer relations? If you are a good listener, can think strategically and act operationally by identifying customers' needs and contributing with new insights to solve them, then you might be the person we are looking for!

About us
To work at RISE's Sensor and Materials unit means to get the opportunity to address industrial and societal challenges through the development of innovative sensor solutions.

Thanks to the broad applicability of sensor systems, we work across several different business and innovation areas.

The Sensors and Materials unit has several multi-year projects starting and on-going this year. Our main activities are in applied public-private funded research. The main areas of research are magnetic sensors and applications, bio- and chemical based sensors for water quality and energy harvesting technologies. Micro- and nanotechnologies form the basis the bulk of our activities.

In one project, we developed a unique magnetic particle tracer for monitoring the dynamics of mixing of two materials in a fluidized bed. In a different project we are working on low-energy sensor systems for use in applications powered by thermal energy harvesting.

About the role
We are looking for a Researcher who will work with the research and development of advanced sensor system solutions.

As a researcher at the unit your main tasks will be to perform theoretical and experimental work. Typically, you will work closely with other sensor researchers, electronics engineers, signal processing experts and application experts. You will participate in publicly financed projects as well as direct assignments from customers. You are expected to contribute to projects in close collaboration with industrial and academic partners. You will be responsible for coordinating and, in some cases, leading moderately complex projects. You will also be expected to create new collaborations and business opportunities with companies. You will therefore build up a broad network within RISE and externally with the industry.

The location for the role is Göteborg Sweden.

Who are you?
You have either a PhD or equivalent qualification, e.g. an MSc with at least five years of experience in R&D. Your experience is within a field that is directly relevant to the unit's main activities: physics, electronics, (micro- and nano-) sensor technologies, energy harvesting, biotech and magnetics are some examples. You have a strong practical experience with a solid theoretical background.

You are customer oriented and skilled at turning customer needs into value through great innovations. Experience with project management is a merit. Experience in writing funding applications is a merit. You enjoy working in dynamic teams, where the members are multidisciplinary and can divide your time between short-term and long-term projects. You are well organized, self-motivated and strive for excellence in every task. You have excellent communication and presentation skills. Well written and spoken English is required. Fluency in Swedish is considered a merit.

Are we right for each other?
We cannot promise you an easy task, but we can promise you dedicated colleagues and some truly engaging societal challenges to tackle. You will get to work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. At RISE, we want you to succeed and feel good, because together with your colleagues you contribute to a sustainable future and to securing a leading position for our industry and research globally. RISE can give you the chance to make a real difference.

Welcome to one of Europe's leading research institutes and innovation partner.

We look forward to your application!
