We are now recruiting a lab based Research Scientist for an assignment lasting until 2014-01-31 with start 2013-05-02, location Mölndal.
Job Purpose:
The Screening Sciences and Compound Management is part of the Discovery Sciences organization in AstraZeneca. Compound Management curates and provides chemical reagents in plate based and non-plate based formats. Screening Sciences provides screening in various throughputs using a range of assay technologies to support drug discovery activities.
Compound Management primarily supports the Mölndal site but partners with other compound management groups to provide efficient global support to AZ and our partner organisations.
The role requires regular use of specialised informatics systems for the management of customer orders and automated sample storage systems. Samples are supplied in solid and liquid format but the focus is on the supply of liquid samples using highly automated systems and the handling of small (nanolitre) volumes of sample. Sample and plate handling is performed using automated systems and you will be expected to develop expertise in using and trouble shooting these systems.
The team works collaboratively to provide support within agreed service levels with a strong focus on our customers.
Qualifications:
A degree in Chemistry or a Bioscience discipline alternatively a logistics background with previous experience from an instrument oriented laboratory.
The position requires strong instrumentation and computer skills. To be successful in the role it is essential that you are goal oriented and have a team working attitude. You must also be service minded and flexible.
