At Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions and the Stationary Crushing and Screening division we're now looking for a Research & Development Manager to focus on the automation area - are you eager to develop, find new ways of working and unite different areas to build a great team? Your mission
In this role, you lead a passionate team of Lead Engineers, Electrical designers, PLC/HMI/Embedded programmers, and Test engineers to success. You maintain, improve, and develop automation capabilities and solutions that enable increased equipment competitiveness, improve serviceability as well as service and performance-based customer partnerships. You act as a role model according to the Sandvik leadership model as well as driving the can-do mentality in R&D, including ownership, accountability, and drive.
Further responsibilities include:
Contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
Leading, directing, evaluating, and developing staff.
Evaluating new technologies and advising on appropriate R&D investments.
Benchmarking technical competitor performance.
Actively investigating industry trends and identifying opportunities and challenges for our current and future technology leadership.
Ensuring legal directives and compliance are followed.

The location for this position is in Svedala, Sweden, and with a hybrid schedule you're allowed to work remotely a day or two per week as long as it fits your activities. Some travel days a few times per year are included to keep you close to our user needs.

Your character
We're looking for a natural leader - an open-minded and strategic individual with business acumen and a passion for succeeding and making our customers satisfied. You're innovative and always seek new angles to engage from - being that from a coworker or yourself. You also know how to cooperate effectively and create a wide contact network.
You hold an engineering degree, or equivalent practical experience to show for. You have several years of experience in product development, preferably in a global manufacturing company. You also have an understanding of the Digital and Automation domain as well as experience with customers and sales organizations. Accompanied by all this is your previous involvement in leadership roles. And lastly, proficiency in verbal and written English is a requirement.
