Your team
As R&D Manager for the Design team within the Tools & Attachments Division you will lead a department of about 17 people, divided into Mechanical designers, Lab technicians and Product managers. This is an inspiring and high performing environment and a great place for you to grow and develop yourself and especially your team. You will play an important role in cross-functional teams, securing successful collaboration between different divisional functions, like Marketing, Operations, Digitalization, HR and Controlling.
Your mission
Your mission as the R&D manager for the Design team in Fagersta is to develop a top-class R&D organization to secure that the Tools & Attachments Division continue to be the market leader within our products. You shall assure an organization that is ready to grow into future success, with resource and competence availability and flexibility according to our strategic needs. You shall provide the resources and competences needed to continuously improve existing products and develop the technical solutions of tomorrow.
You also have a mission of being a courageous leader, who inspires others to grow and creates commitment, leaving tangible legacies!
You have the responsibility to:
* Build a strong team with good dynamics and high competence and ensure the safety and wellbeing of your team and yourself
* Coach, inspire and grow your team members
* Manage the CPI process and forums locally and manage product responsibility globally (global production)
* Be responsible for the products that are developed in the team
* Improve customer centricity and a Dare to think new spirit
Your profile
You have a fundamental believe in building a diverse team with the right competence and a great learning culture! You are people oriented and you lead by showing the way and your biggest reward is to see the team and the individuals continuously improve themselves and their performances. We see that you have proven experience and track record in coaching people to deliver outstanding results, as well as previous experience in managing and developing people in a global environment.
You have a Master of Science in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mechanics, Electro technology), or similar knowledge gained through work experience. It is important that you have knowledge and previous experience in product and process development. You should have the ability to lead and collaborate cross functionally as well as globally.
As our corporate language is English, strong English communication skills both verbal and written are required.
Location and travel
This position is in Fagersta. Occasional travel is required depending on business needs.
