The team
The department for production and logistics research (VECR) within production and logistics (P&L) is responsible for leading and supporting Scania in research and external cooperation with universities and research institutes. The group also supports P&L in the industrialization of research results. Based on P&L Technology Roadmap , we actively influence the surrounding society to strengthen prerequisites for manufacturing of heavy vehicles. The group is a department within Global Industrial Development (VE), which is a staff function within P&L.
Your task
Your main task will be to support Scania's production and logistics with the activities described below. You will also take part in the development of internal processes at VE and VECR. In your role as Research Manager you will lead or participate in the following activities:
• Create and maintain connections to the external research community
• Initiate, participate, and contribute in research projects, based on P&L TRM, with academia and research partners.
• Generate research questions, based on Scania P&L's need
• Represent Scania in external networks
• Lead our internal research network
• Be a supervisor to selected PhD -students
• Support in industrialization of research results
Your profile
You hold a PhD degree in engineering or equivalent. You have an extensive network within universities and research institutes in Sweden as well as internationally. Preferably you have experience from working within this type of organisations and being a supervisor for PhD-students.
General knowledge about Scania and Lean (Scania Production System, lean at Scania) focused on production and logistics.
Knowledge in the German language is an advantage.
As a person you are an engaged open-minded person who also is analytical, organized, and have extensive communication skills. Furthermore you are customer oriented and available for the organization in order to deal with many different questions.
