Our subsidiary, Institute de la Corrosion in France, allows us also to have a direct geographical presence in continental Europe.
The Institute has a long tradition of research into TMP of especially steels but also some non-ferrous alloys. This interest will continue in the foreseeable future in close collaboration with the major Swedish metal companies. We are now looking for someone who will lead and expand this area and who will also initiate new strategic directions for the research. Our laboratories are well equipped with versatile instrumentation for simulating hot deformation processes and also advanced metallography including four field-emission gun electron microscopes. In early 2012 the Institute will move to new premises with further investment in equipment, including a Gleeble 1500 system.
Suitable applicants should possess a Ph.D. and at least three years post-doctoral experience in the area of TMP. We are seeking someone with proven ability and vision. In addition to carrying out own research, the candidate is expected to supervise co-workers and also play an active role in seeking funding. Funding is available through the Institute?s member company programme but additional sources such as national and EU programmes will be essential for successful development in this research field.
