Titel:
Research Fellow in Neurochemisty with special focus on stem cell research

SUBJECT AREA DESCRIPTION: Stem cell-derived neurons have become important tools to evaluate biomarkers for central nervous system diseases, especially in what regard neurons express and secrete the biomarkers (often proteins) of interest, mechanisms of release underlying the secretion and to what extent disease-related exposures alter the biomarker concentrations in the cell media. The assistant professor will conduct research in this field with particular focus on neuronal damage in response to oxidative stress and inflammatory exposures in the context of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
JOB ASSIGNMENTS: Research on stem cell models of neurodegenerative diseases.

ELIGIBILITY: The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and in University of Gothenburg 's Appointments Procedure for Teachers. Qualified for appointment as research fellow (forskarassistent) is a person who has been awarded a PhD degree or have achieved equivalent academic qualifications.
