Malmö University is organized into five faculties: The faculty of Health and Society, Culture and Society, Education and Society, Faculty of Odontology and Technology and Society.
The position is placed at the Faculty of Culture and Society, Department of Global Political Studies and managed by the Malmö Institute for Studies of Migration, Diversity and Welfare (MIM). The MIM research institute was established in January 2007 as a research institute at Malmö University. It is a vibrant and prominent Swedish Centre for research on migration, diversity and welfare, while at the same time keeping a high international profile. It consists of a nucleus of senior and junior researchers, the guest professor and a wide network of affiliated researchers.

Duties
The successful applicant will be required to combine research work (80 per cent) with MIM administrative/teaching duties in connection with the visiting professorship. He/she will be expected to acquaint him/herself with and be capable of effectively disseminating information about research being undertaken by the visiting professors to students, university staff and the general public. Considerable importance will therefore be attached to candidates' ability to express themselves clearly and fluently in written and spoken English. Additional duties will include helping to organize and being responsible for workshops and conferences, as well as leading research seminars in accordance with the stipulations set out in the City of Malmö deed of gift: the Visiting Professorship in Memory of Willy Brandt. The successful candidate will also be expected to plan, coordinate and cooperate with the current visiting professor with regard to lectures and ensuing publications during the latter's stay. He/she will also be wholly responsible for the Willy Brandt Series of Working Papers.
Experience and qualifications
Applicants must have obtained a PhD or equivalent academic competence. Priority will be given to candidates who have completed their degree no more than 7 years before the closing date for applications.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must have:
• A PhD, or equivalent academic merits within the subject area International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER).
• Documented skills in quantitative methods and research
• A clearly defined research plan.
• Documented experience of research coordination and collaboration
• Documented fluency in written and spoken English
Selection criteria
Assessment of candidates is based on their degree of proficiency and ability with respect to the qualifications listed above.
