Stockvik is one of the largest AkzoNobel-sites in Sweden, with 380 people working in three different business units: Pulp and Performance Chemicals, Surface Chemistry and Wood Finishes & Adhesives. We are now looking for a Research Engineer to our RD &I team.
About the position
As a Research Engineer you will contribute to the development and optimization of new and existing processes and products in the production of Expancel. You will contribute during scale-up and implementation of new products and processes in the production and contribute to a continuous improvement of the scale-up process.
Main duties and responsibilities
Responsibility to lead and participate in assigned RD&I development projects and activities and to report progress and results according to the PULSE-methodology of the RD&I-department
Ensure progress in assigned projects and activities through leading and coordinating team members
Responsibility to perform and order laboratory activities/evaluations connected to given project and assignment activities, and to evaluate and communicate results
Responsibility to initiate and support product and process development in implementation stages, like production scale-up
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the scale-up process
Responsibility to support production with chemical and technical trouble shooting and to participate in assigned RCPS activities
Master of Science in Chemistry/Chemical engineering or corresponding education, preferably with 3-4 years of relevant job experience
Experience from product & process development and production scale up is beneficial
Experience from handling of multivariate data is meriting
Experience in project work and project management is also beneficial
Good ability of technical and chemical problem solving
Good communication skills in English and preferably also in Swedish, both orally and in writing
Good awareness of safety, health and environmental regulations
