An exciting job opportunity has arisen within our multimedia team that focuses on media protocols and applications. As a research engineer, you will be part of a skilled team that drives multimedia applications, such as mobile TV, forward. The main part of your job will be improving web technologies such as AJAX, Widgets, HTML, CSS and SVG, and underlying browser technology in a mobile context. You will also be responsible for defining and developing mobile frameworks for web applications, and investigating links to other frameworks, such as Java ME. This includes issues such as caching and off-line web applications. In return, you will work with cutting-edge technology in an international environment that inspires you to develop and grow.
Competence:
You are a motivated person with a strong drive for understanding and improving web technology. You are willing to take on a variety of tasks and are able to work accurately. You work well independently, but are also a team player who puts a lot of focus on finishing tasks on time and with high quality. You have good collaboration and communication skills, and are a problem solver. You are also an analytical and systematic person who can easily translate knowledge into results.
You should also have:
• a Master of Science or equivalent degree;
• a solid background in software development as well as in techniques and tools used for web applications;
• excellent programming skills (Javascript, Java, Python, C/C++);
• excellent knowledge of web technologies (HTML/XHTML, CSS, XML, SVG);
• good written and spoken in English;
• experience in open-source development is an advantage.
