Are you amazed by the potential of AI, and have a high level of understanding of how to set up a full stack for computer vision? Do you have a background as a professional software developer? We are expanding our naval computer vision effort, and are looking for a skilled programmer to join our machine learning project, working with setting up the stack, programming, and collaborating and leading other engineers. Join the Technology Management department at Saab Kockums and be part of taking our products to the next level!
Your role
Primarily the job is about developing computer vision for naval ships. Saab Kockums has a well-equipped research vessel, and your job is to be part of a growing team that will make the vessel understand its environment using primarily cameras. Both Saab Kockums and Saab (that Saab Kockums is part of) have many engineers working with software, autonomy, and AI. An important part of the work will be collaborations and knowledge exchanges in this organization.
The role will also include other tasks within the department, such as supporting different R&T-projects, and handling different contacts and collaborations with external parties such as universities, research institutes, and other Saab entities. Involvement in software-related European defense projects will also be part of the job.
The main tasks are:
* Programming - Python, C#, ...
* Creating training datasets, training neural networks, and testing
* Setting up the total stack for the data engine
* Be part of leading the way towards a larger, more effective software organization
* Collaboration within Saab and Saab Kockums, as well as with customers and sub-suppliers
Your profile
We believe that you have a passion for new technology and understands how to apply it in our use-cases. You have experience both from working with professional software development and machine learning. It would be beneficial if you had some naval background and/or have experience from the military industry. To thrive in this role, you are a motivated, structured person who has a built-in hunger to learn more. Furthermore, you are naturally social and flexible, with the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new tasks, projects, and customer needs.
Required skills:
* Master's degree in engineering or equivalent
* Software engineer, e.g. Python and C# (> 5 years' experience)
* Machine Learning (preferably experience from computer vision)
* Good communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written
* Self-motivated
Desired skills:
* Good knowledge of marine technologies
* Good leadership skills
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

The Technology Management department is a small multi-disciplinary team within the Strategy Department at Saab Kockums. Our role is to manage and execute technology and research projects, including collaborations with universities, institutes, other industries and governmental bodies.
