EMF Health and Safety is a research area within Ericsson Research. The research is mainly related to human exposure to radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields (EMF) from wireless communication equipment. Activities include coordination of Ericsson's support of independent health research, EMF limit-compliance assessments of radio products, internal and external support, and development of information on EMF and related health and safety issues. The area's scope also includes research activities in the environment and sustainability.

Job description
As a Research Engineer within the research area EMF Health and Safety at Ericsson Research, your main task will be to participate in research activities related to environmental issues and sustainability. This includes Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies of products and networks, and development and analysis of services and applications that can promote sustainable development. As such, you will, for example, develop methods and applications to reduce the energy consumption of our products and make mobile communication more available in emerging markets in order to facilitate education and healthcare in these areas.

Qualification (formal education needed)
A Master of Science in Engineering is required. A PhD within a relevant area for this position is an advantage.

Requested competence
To succeed in this position you need good knowledge of communication technologies and basic knowledge of energy and environmental engineering. You should also be capable of sticking to deadlines and delivering high-quality results in an environment subjected to quality measurement procedures. Being able to initiate and lead new activities, and to work independently as well as in a team, are also important in this role. Good English and Swedish, both written and spoken, are essential.
