The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology conducts research and offers education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are looking for a Research Engineer for development of organic solar cells within the department of Applied Physics.

Your future work assignments
A positions as research engineer is open for application at Biomolecular and organic electronics, IFM, Linköping University. You will work in a project on Building integrated polymer photovoltaics financed by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. The project will develop materials and production methods for the next generation of polymer solar cells, to be integrated in windows, building surfaces and envelopes. The semitransparent solar modules are formed by coating onto polymer foils and lamination to form modules. Tasks to solve are formation of inks from solutions of polymers and molecules, evaluation and optimization of coating and lamination methods, optoelectrical device and module characterization, and finally integration in windows and surfaces.

The main focus of the position will be improvement of performance and stability of devices by optimizing the interlayer and active layer materials, focused on non-fullerene acceptors.

These tasks are done in close collaboration with Epishine AB, which operates production tools for large scale fabrication and characterization of polymer solar modules.

Your future workplace
You will work at Biomolecular and Organic Electronics, IFM, Campus Valla, Linköping University and Epishine Laboratory in Valla, Linköping.

Your qualifications
We are looking for someone who has a master within physics, chemistry, material science or related areas. You have solid experience within device preparation and characterization within organic electronics. You have a PhD or solid experience within organic solar cells. You have:

• Extensive experience of organic solar cells focused on device preparation and characterization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, accuracy and ability to clearly communicate and cooperate with colleagues and personnel
• Strong inner motivation for problem solving
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Form of employment
100% for 14 months

Starting date
By agreement.
