This position requires a combination of many different skills related to software development and programming, but goes well beyond the typical scope of such jobs.
Therefore, we need a person who is creative, open to new challenges, and passionate about delivering high quality results.
The person hired for this position is going to support CAISR researchers in designing and implementing the software used in our research. Example tasks include building demonstrators, collecting data and performing experiments, integrating several algorithms into a single coherent system, designing and maintaining open source libraries.
CAISR's goal is to do research which has high impact not only on the research community, but also on society and industry. This requires, however, that our results are available not only as research papers, but also as more tangible results accessible to different types of audiences (engineers, managers, politicians, ...), and in different forms (as stand-alone programs, web services or mobile apps).
The position is a temporary position starting as soon as possible and ending March 31 2019.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate (Bachelor) qualifications within the field of software development and programming
• Workingexperience from (excellent skills in) coding, software design and arcitecture.
• Experience from a range of software development technologies
The person applying for this position also needs to:
• be able to work closely with researchers and other stakeholders to develop solutions that fulfill their needs.
• be creative to propose new approaches, formulate specifications, prototype and test them quickly, and discard the ones that do not work.
• have very good organisational, time and project management skills and accuracy and attention to detail
• have mathematical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills and enjoy and master teamwork
Salary
Salary is to be determined by negotiation. The application should include a statement of the salary level required by the candidate.
