Eka Chemicals is a leading supplier of bleaching chemicals, paper chemicals and systems to the pulp and paper industry throughout the world, and supplies certain special chemicals to the pharmaceuticals industry, water treatment, the electronics industry etc.
The unit Research, Business Development and Communication has about 110 employees within four departments; Product RD&I, Global Marketing, Business Development and Communications. Product RD&I focuses on new product development and concept development for both our existing businesses and for new opportunities within the Pulp and Paper Business.
Product RD&I is now looking for a new research engineer within the Paper Chemicals Application Section. Location for the position is in Bohus, just north of Gothenburg. For more information please go to
www.akzonobel.com/eka.As a research engineer within Paper Chemicals Application you will contribute to the development of future products for the paper industry. The person we are looking for preferably has a competence in the area of wet end chemistry, application of paper chemicals and/or paper machine understanding. As a research engineer you will be responsible for wet end chemistry activities within Product RD&I. This means:
• Independently plan, conduct and evaluate laboratory tests
• Independently report and present results internally and externally
• Participate in product development projects
• Provide market and sales with advice and assistance in the form of application work
• Be responsible for the choice of laboratory methods and modifications of these when needed.
We believe our candidate has a MSc in Chemistry, Chemical engineering or corresponding experience/education and 3 years experience from relevant laboratory work. You are an analytical and careful person with the ability to work independently and in projects. Furthermore you are result oriented and can motivate and engage others, have an open and innovative mind set. You also have safety awareness. Since Eka Chemicals is an international company you need to be fluent in written and spoken English. You also need a driving license.
