"Process Design and Product Support" is a new section within the Downstream Bioprocessing Department (~90 people) which belong to the Global BioProcess R&D (~500 people). The section is based in Uppsala and consists of ~10 highly skilled research engineers and scientists.
Essential Responsibilities:
The section is responsible for development of new manufacturing technologies, process development as well as supporting our production unit with improvements in current processes. The section does also have an overall responsibility for product support. The section will be involved in research projects, new product development projects as well as product support (eg product and process care) projects. Typical products developed from the department are chromatography resins. We are now looking for a Research Engineer who mainly will work with evaluating new techniques. Your role includes scouting for and evaluate new techniques, manage internal projects/activities and have a close collaboration with manufacturing. More specifically will your tasks include:
Scout for and evaluate new production methods and processes for particle formation
Scout for and evaluate process analysis methods
Contribute in trouble shooting activities
Transfer of new techniques to manufacturing
To plan, execute and document project work to reach given objectives

MSc in Chemical Engineering or related fields
Experience of industrial development work
Good communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals and in group settings
English and Swedish as working languages
Desired Characteristics:
Experience from laboratory work, pilot scale work as well as large scale work
Experience from techniques for particle synthesis methods, e.g. emulsification processes
Delivery focus
Good trouble shooting ability
Good interpersonal skills
