Role Summary:
We are looking for a Research Engineer within the field of particle and ligand characterization with a great focus on laboratory work.
Essential Responsibilities:
The main purpose of the role is to use existing analytical methods, as well as develop new ones, for characterization of ligands and particles developed for chromatography media. You will also act as technical specialist and follow the developments in this field. Frequently used techniques that are used, but are not limited to, are GC, GC-MS, TOC/TN and titration. Experience of these methods will be seen as an advantage. Statistical experience is crucial.
The role is within Surface Design section, BioProcess Media department, BioProcess R&D. The main focus for the section is to support the department with expertise and technologies regarding ligand and surface modification chemistry and development, as well as analytical methods relevant to this area.
• Primary characterization of ligands and particles
• This position is strongly weighted to analytical work in lab scale and hence the right candidate will have a strong laboratory focus
• Independently plan and accomplish given tasks from Project Manager or Section Manager, to reach given project objectives
• Independently solve problems of "trouble shooting character" in project work
• Document and report results both orally and written
• Conduct all tasks within the frameworks of GE Healthcare policies and guidelines
Qualifications:
• MSc in analytical chemistry/polymer chemistry/material chemistry or equal experience
• Genuine interest in performing laboratory work with an analytical and accurate way of working
• Good knowledge in area of GC, TOC/TN and titration
• Statistical knowledge
• Ability to work independently, alone as well as with others
• Delivery focus
• Good interpersonal skills
• English and Swedish as working languages
• EU work permit
Desired Characteristics:
• Experience of industrial development work
• Hands on experience of several analytical techniques that is not mentioned in qualifications, and broad technical knowledge
