Cytiva is looking for a Research engineer to join its Manufacturing science and technology (MSAT) department, based in Uppsala, Sweden. The successful candidate will assist the R&D team in Uppsala to help accelerate a successful process transfer to a second resin manufacturing site. As a research engineer the main part of the role is to explore process analytical technologies (PAT) from lab scale up to production scale and hence the person suited for this opening should enjoy working in a chemistry lab with main focus on the analyzes. Documentation is also a crucial task for this position.
The Uppsala Cytiva site is a workplace for more than 1200 persons including in addition to R&D also functions as manufacturing, marketing, quality control and QA. Cross-functional activities in collaboration with other units will represent an important part of work responsibilities.
This is a temporary position for 12 months.
What You'll Do
Working as a part of Cytiva R&D at MSAT, you will contribute to secure that we can deliver our launched products to our customers. The primary focus is to support a successful process transfer to a second resin manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities include:
Perform experimental work within the area of surface/polymer/organic chemistry with focus on characterization
Independently plan and accomplish given tasks from Managers, to reach given project objectives
Document and report results both orally and written
Travelling to second manufacturing site
Who you are
You are a structured and organized team player, with significant professional experience and a degree in a relevant area. You are a goal oriented problem solver, who has a burning passion for working in cross functional teams securing the quality of documentation from a technical perspective.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
MSc or equal experience in chemistry
Min. 3 years' work experience in relevant fields
Documented laboratory experience
Delivery focus
Structured and organised team player
Good interpersonal skills
English and Swedish as working languages
Ability to travel
Desired Experience
Experience of work with polysaccharides
Experience from process analytical technology
Experience from development of gel filtration media
