We have an immediate opening for a Research Engineer who will contribute to the development of new and improved production processes, products and applications within the Colloidal Silica business. The purpose of this role is to de velop and optimize new and existing products and processes, characterization methods, technical solutions and applications. You will identify new product/process optimizations, technical solutions and opportunities and evaluate ideas & results. You will participate in assigned projects and lead projects/activities and ensure execution and delivery of technical results.
You will take an important and active part in technical/chemical cross-functional discussions and communicate with all functions involved - Sales & Marketing, Plants, Technology and RD&I.

Main responsibilities
• Maintain and promote a safe work environment, complies with safety policies and procedures. Follow safe work practices for personal and equipment safety, both in the laboratory and in the field. End results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a clean, orderly working environment.
• Contribute to personal motivation, involvement and competence development in order to provide efficiency and valuable results to the company.
• Set-up, plan, execute, analyze, interpret and report experiments within and outside own unit.
• Identify new product/process optimization and technical solutions and new application opportunities for own area/domain and share these with other team members and management.
• Maintain, improve and develop new relevant R&D methods in the field, ensure retention of knowledge through research reports and ensure the knowledge of the team is up to date.
• Participate in assigned projects/activities, lead projects/activities and ensure execution and delivery of technical results through leading and coordinating team members.

• Responsibility to support product development tasks in implementation stages.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through knowledge support and trouble shooting in customer related problems.
• Contribute to IP applications for own research work; analyze 3rd party IP in own area.
• PhD in chemistry/chemical technology or Master's Degree in chemistry/chemical technology with 3 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's Degree in chemistry /chemical technology with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience from laboratory work.
• Result oriented.
• Good ability to cooperate and communicate with different stakeholders.
• Good communication skills in writing reports and presenting results.
• God communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
