hela Sverige We have an immediate opening for a Research Chemist who will strengthen our successful Asphalt Application team at AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry in Stenungsund.
The business segment Asphalt Applications specializes in advanced chemistry for the pavement industry. Our business philosophy is to develop chemistry and technology which, when used in a system, will improve the performance and durability of asphalt pavements. As Research Chemist you will work within the Asphalt application team, developing new chemical solutions to market driven requirements.
- Develop and evaluate new products and technologies for Asphalt and Fuel emulsion Applications
- Technical contact person to customers within Fuel emulsion area within Asphalt applications
- Carry out practical lab work in the form of technical service to customers
- Take part in customer visits
- Plan and perform Laboratory work, interpret and report results
- Solve problems related to products and processes
- Maintain interaction with internal and external customers as well as counterparts at other R&D sites
- Develop and adjust evaluation methods
- Maintain and develop expertise in technologies in the asphalt & fuel emulsion area by following and evaluating literature and patents
- MSc in organic or surface chemistry
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Preferably knowledge of the petrochemical industry (asphalt, fuel emulsion, oil, refinery)
- Experience in operating in an international working environment
- Positive, open minded and creative with an entrepreneurial drive
- Results oriented with courage to question customers and colleagues
- Good ability to communicate and build relations
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
