We have an exciting opportunity for a research chemist at our Business Unit Surface Chemistry in Stenungsund!
The Research Chemist's responsibility is within new and existing product development/research. Through your work you will contribute to new products, new processes and improvements in all application and technology segments by performing and suggesting experimental work. This position will expose you to all different functions within the Business Unit. You will have a central role where your network, among other things, will help you grow and develop quickly. This position can be a good learning platform for someone with the right attitude and a long-term interest in becoming a project manager.
Main responsibilities
• Act as an expert in synthetic chemistry.
• Handle complex assignments with multiple stakeholders.
• Independently run assignments in accordance to prioritizations both for internal and external customers, and interpret the results.
• Develop and maintain expertise knowledge in at least one of the key areas of the department, and a good Surface Chemistry product know how, and be updated with the capabilities of the Surface Chemistry plants.
• Actively follow and report on the technical and scientific development witin the designated field of speciality by means of contacts with universities, institutes, customers, literature, conferences etc. with the aim to have updated, modern and effiecent methods that suits the upcoming business needs.
• Licentiate/PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field or MSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with a few years of relevant experience.
• Excellent problem solving ability.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills both orally and in writing.
• Basic skills in surface chemistry analysis.
