The Department of Medicine, Huddinge conducts preclinical and clinical research in a variety of areas and undergraduate and graduate education.
The department is internationally oriented and consists of seven units with about 40 teams.
The research group
The candidate will be given the exciting opportunity to join a newly established research group at the Center for Hematology and Regenerative Medicine (HERM) at the Institute of Medicine, Huddinge (MedH), Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. The research focus of the group is to study the function and regulation of hematopoietic stem cells in development.
Duties
The main duties of the research assistant include mouse colony management and mouse genotyping. The research assistant will also be delegated a research project and independently conduct experiments under the supervision of the principal investigator.
Entry requirements
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious candidate with relevant experience in mouse work, Western blot analyses, flow cytometry analyses and general molecular biology techniques such as RT-PCR. Good knowledge of the English language is required. The applicant must be able to integrate well into the international and multidisciplinary research environment at HERM. Personal suitability is therefore of great importance. Applicants should have been granted a Degree of Bachelor within a relevant subject, preferably Molecular Biology or Genetics.
