Position description
As a Research Assistant, you will support MDU's agrivoltaic research group, with a particular focus on research activities related to crop growth and yield assessment in agrivoltaic systems.
The role includes planning and conducting field experiments, as well as practical work in an agricultural environment. You will be responsible for measuring crop-related parameters, monitoring crop development and health, and conducting sampling within agrivoltaic systems.
You will also contribute to the analysis of collected data and participate in the preparation of scientific publications and reports.
Qualification requirements
We are looking for candidates who hold a Master's degree in agriculture or equivalent.
You must have:
research experience at doctoral level within agrivoltaic systems,
documented experience in planning and conducting agricultural field trials, preferably within agrivoltaic systems,
experience with statistical analysis methods for evaluating crop field trials,
experience working with canopy analyzers and equipment for measuring photosynthesis,
the ability to plan and carry out sampling across different crop types,
experience of laboratory work related to yield assessment, such as drying procedures and seed cleaning,
excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Merit
It is considered an advantage if you have:
experience in crop assessment within agrivoltaic systems in Sweden or similar climatic conditions,
experience with crop trials under spectrally selective PV panels or semi-transparent solar panels,
a valid European driving licence (category B).
