hela Sverige The Department of Public Health Sciences performs research, teaching and counseling within the field of Public Health. The international profile is strong. The Department comprises six divisions within total around 270 employees, and around 110 research students.
The position as research assistant is part of the divisions collaboration with the European Public Health Association (EUPHA), at the section for Social Epidemiology within the Division of Social Medicine. One main task is to contribute in a study on European nongovernmental associations and their role in European public health policy. Another is to monitor and follow up manuscript processing in the European Journal of Public Health (EJPH). The research assistant is expected to work independently with literature review, interviewing key players in the EUPHA network, perform a questionnaire survey on European public health work. Since the interface with health care and health services is strong, a background in medical care or health services is valuable. The applicant is also expected to work independently with the EJPH database to check scientific manuscripts and to follow up and monitor review and further processing of manuscripts.
Competence required is a master or equivalent training in public health. The applicant should have a medical background or other education within the health care sector. The applicant should also have experience in scientific publishing and manuscript handling. Good proficiency in English language is required. Other qualifications are experience of public health policy or practice and experience in working with nongovernmental public health associations. Experience in international public health is of particular value.
