Division
The research group of Dr.
Boström at the Department of Dental Medicine focuses on oral manifestations and the elucidation of mechanisms underlying the inflammatory conditions periodontal diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, and systemic lupus erythamatousus.
Duties
A research assistant position is open for a highly motivated, enthusiastic candidate. The primary responsibility will be to generate high quality data that will support our on-going clinical projects. Main duties will include data entry and processing in clinical data bases, statistical analysis, and graphing. Additional duties include processing of biological tissues and fluids, protein expression analysis in oral tissues and complex biological fluids such as saliva. The position will also include assisting research group members in related projects in cooperation with the responsible principle investigator.
Entry requirements
We are looking for a dentist with an adequate education and experience in clinical and molecular research.
The position requires:
- Dental degree
- Solid knowledge and skills to work independently with SPSS, GraphPad Prism, STATA, MS Office
- Ability to work independently with ELISA and multiplex protein platforms
- Documented research experience investigating the potential link between periodontitis and systemic inflammatory conditions
- Good communication skills in English, both oral and written
- Good organizational skills
Advantageous:
- Experience from dental academic research setting working with large clinical data bases
- Experience in handling and protein analysis of oral tissues and complex biological fluids including saliva.
- Research experience working with rheumatic diseases and inflammatory bowel disease
