Research in the field of Biochemistry at Linnaeus University is carried out at the Department of Chemistry and Biomedical Sciences within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. We are interested in a wide range of research disciplines including molecular interactions, enzymology, immunology, virology, chemistry and biomaterials. The department has during the last years recruited several assistant and associate professors with a goal of branching into novel research areas.

Job description
This is an opportunity to work in a fully funded project at the forefront of cancer research. The overall focus of the current project is to develop combination therapies for treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia. The research assistant will deal with growing cancer cells, maintenance of a cell lab, planning, executing and analysis experiments with cancer cells. Analysis will be carried out using various experimental and computational tools. The prospected research assistant will also be engaged with working in students of various levels.
Requirements
The applicant should have a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine or a related field. Proven experience of working with cancer cells is essential. The applicant must be fluent in English (both oral and written). You must be excellent team player. Experience in working with animal models and genetic analysis of cancer cells is beneficial. Track record of publishing in peer reviewed journals will also be considered when reviewing the candidates.
Tearms of employment
This is a fixed term 60% position for one year. Extending the position may be possible subject to availability of funds and a new application.
