Electrical and Hybrid Electrical Vehicle Systems group is seeking for a talented engineer to join our teams.
The group closely follows the front line technology and research in hybrid electric powertrains, electrical energy storage, electric drives, fuel cells and fuel cell systems. In the field of hybrid electric vehicles, the areas of competence are electric motor drives, traction batteries, hybrid powertrain control, and electric control architecture. Vehicle simulation activities focus on the design and control of hybrid electric vehicles. The group runs and participates in a wide range of projects with short-term, as well as long-term goals. For example, design and implementation of prototypes and products, feasibility studies, concept vehicles etc.
As a part of our group you will participate and assist in project teams associated with battery systems, electric driveline research and development, and Volvos hybrid vehicle integration programs. You will participate in, and lead, component and system level testing activities. You will work with existing and new clients to define project proposals and activities. You will create project schedules and budgets, and manage projects to completion, including written reports and technical papers.
Core Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise in the hybrid technology area
Participate and contribute to the development of the laboratory testing business of our group
Perform and document laboratory or on-vehicle tests of hybrid components including motors, drives, controls, energy management systems and batteries, and hybrid systems
Required Competencies
Recognized technical expert in hybrid vehicle system and subsystem technologies
Experience in planning of tests, laboratory experimentation, and data analysis
Good communication and teamwork skills
To be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
Fluency in Swedish and English language
Desired Characteristics
Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fields
Expertise in electric machine technologies
Expertise in electrical energy storage systems
Expertise in using Matlab/Simulink-based hybrid vehicle models
Expertise in the vehicle integration of: software, electrical, and mechanical hardware
Expertise in the testing of motors, drives, batteries, energy management systems and vehicle controls
Expertise in developing, implementing and tuning controls and algorithms for traction motors, energy management and advanced batteries
Expertise in design & development of inverters and DC/DC converters
Project management skills
Strong analytical skills
The ability to work across all functions and levels as part of a team
Minimum Years of Experience Required
Minimum 7 years of experience related to hybrid electrical vehicle field.
Minimum Education Required
Masters degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
Physical Requirements if applicable
Laboratory and office work environments.
