Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. Such an effort brings many challenges for Research and Development, both in the short and longer terms. In response to these challenges, Scania invests heavily in Research and Advanced Engineering, facilitated to a great extent by Scania's Research Office. The mission of the Research Office is to drive forward technical and transport system research in adjacent and transformational business areas to ensure long term competitiveness.

As part of this mission, Scania collaborates with many external research partners. The Research Office is tasked with supporting successful external research collaborations. A key part of this is ensuring that Scania has beneficial conditions in place for each collaboration.

The Research Office is seeking a new Research Agreement Leader to take responsibility for protecting and advancing Scania interests through our collaborative research agreements.

Your responsibilities and tasks

On an operational level, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient process to support research project managers deliver required contractual documents into their projects. On a strategic level, you will be expected to work with our key external stakeholders (e.g. other automotive OEMs, research institutes, and universities) to ensure that Scania interests are advanced in our collaborative agreements. Regular dialogue with Scania research project managers, the Scania legal representative for R&D, as well as Scania legal counsel will be required.

Your profile

We are seeking a person eager to work on an operational and strategic level to drive forward Scania's Research ambitions coupled with intellectual property and external research agreements.

To be successful in this role, you need to have;

• Experience or strong interest in contract/agreement review and development.
• Experience or strong interest in having dialogue and interactions with legal counsel,
• Some experience with process development
• Fluency in written Swedish
• Great administrative skills
• Ability to understand when the broader picture is more important than the details and vice versa.



As an individual it is important that you can take responsibility, can focus on details, and act with integrity at all times.

It would be beneficial if you have technical knowledge relevant to Scania R&D and a good understanding of the challenges a project manager with many stakeholders is facing. Most importantly, we are seeking a colleague who is passionate about driving innovation and are proud of protecting the Intellectual Property of Scania.
