In 2017 the total research expenditures where over 67 MSEK and the school had over 800 students. Over the next two years, the School will grow significantly.
Description
Appointment is intended to contribute to the research activities of the School of Information Technology (ITE) at Halmstad University. Appointment will be made as a Research Engineer. Appointment is a permanent and full-time.
General Duties
The Research Engineer is expected to lead the development of the newly established Electronics Center Halland (ECH) Center, including its measurements facilities. The work will include developing existing industrial collaborations, maximizing industrial and educational use of the Center, selection and operation of the equipment for the facility, and supporting the development of research and educational activities connected with the Center. The Research Engineer will also leverage the Center and the associated network of industrial partners to enhance the connection between student thesis and research projects and the current needs of regional and national industrial partners. This work also includes the continued development of the Center's facilities as infrastructure that further co-production between previous thesis workers and involved companies, facilitate internships, and workspace.
General Qualifications
The position requires a Masters degree electromagnetics, physics, electronics, or equivalent. Expertise and prior experience with antenna and radio frequency electromagnetics is highly desirable, as is expertise with measurement and instrumentation. At the technical level, the ideal candidate will have good knowledge in EMC testing (test processes and harmonized EMC standards for different product segments). Strong industrial connections are considered an asset. Experience with cooperation's with industry and business at different stages of development is desirable.
Salary
Salary is to be determined by negotiation. The application should include a statement of the salary level required by the candidate.
